TLDR;
I co-founded India’s first wed-tech company, Weddingmojo- a hybrid wedding online customised platform launched during COVID-19 that combined virtual and physical elements of Indian weddings, offering services from live streaming to professional photography, before evolving into Invitemojo to specialize in video-based invitations.

2020: a covid wedding
Parents who dreamed of celebrating their daughter’s wedding now hold a camera instead, streaming it to loved ones who can’t be there.
Present, yet distant, they watch the moment slip away.

Big Fat Indian Weddings
Indian weddings are crucial for families culturally and traditionally. It also helps them enhance their social standing within the community, most spending at least one-fifth of their entire life’s savings for this.
Unorganised Potential
The wedding industry represents a $130 billion unorganised opportunity, driven by high demand, and a large population, with gap for innovative services.
Digital Shift in Weddings
The rise of tech-savvy consumers and COVID-19 have accelerated the adoption of digital tools like virtual ceremonies and online planning, making wed-tech solutions more appealing.
Diving Deep
We explored COVID-19’s impact on Indian weddings, inspired by a father’s heartbreak over missing his daughter’s wedding. How could we recreate that same sense of togetherness and celebration online? The goal became clear:
How might we craft a digital space that could encapsulate the joy and closeness of a traditional Indian wedding despite the physical distance?
This brought us to various brainstorming and Ideation sessions within us. We knew that the solution had to be hybrid- the best of both worlds- physical and digital. The solution needed to be hybrid to give guests and the families the versatility and convenience.
Our aim was simple- to make customers feel they're the part of wedding, even when they can't make it to the wedding

This led to Weddingmojo

Something for everyone
We positioned Weddingmojo solutions into two major packages- one which is quicker, for people who want to connect with their guests and keep a digital memory for late. The other was more extensive- digital solutions and our on-site creatives, delivering all memories from beginning to forever

The Challenge
When we noticed a decline in demand for virtual weddings but an increasing interest in video invites, our team seized the opportunity to create Invitemojo. Our goal was to develop a product that stood out in a largely untapped market—combining creativity and technology to offer a seamless digital invitation experience.
Invitemojo: Redefining Video-Based Invitations
Invitemojo was born as a pivot from Weddingmojo, following a shift in demand post-COVID-19. As a video-based invitation platform, Invitemojo provides personalized and engaging invites for occasions like weddings, birthdays, and events, meeting modern users’ needs for customization and affordability.
Experience and Learnings
Led WeddingMojo through the dynamic Indian wedding industry, managing both client expectations and team growth. Key challenges included adapting to last-minute changes and balancing workload while maintaining service quality. The most rewarding aspect was witnessing our platform bring joy to families and create lasting memories across distances.
